Plastering is a way to create a wall or ceiling finish. It is applied by hand to a substrate. We often build up the thickness in several coats to ensure the best application.
For ceilings we often need to work on stilts (Ross is adept on stilts for ceiling work). Plasterboards can be used, and often are for partition walls. These boards can then be ‘skimmed over’ with plaster. Finishing coatings are used to smooth the finish over.
Solid plastering involves mixed aggregates and binders. It is linked to external techniques, such as pebble dashing.
